Self-portrait through Filmmaking

Joined with Pelikan Pictures, Flawa invites you to participate in the Filmmaking workshop with
the Peruvian filmmaker Karoline Pelikan.

Self-portrait through filmmaking

Who am I?
In this workshop participants will learn to challenge their perception: Where do we find poetry in a
plastic bag, the uncommon in the ordinary and the beauty in imperfection? What does the medium
of film have to do with self-reflection? How can we convert an idea on paper to audiovisual poetry?… And finally – how can I create an audiovisual story?

Participants will practice to capture little moments of and about their lives in London. During the
workshop, we will discuss and learn about aesthetic approaches and self-portraits in other art
forms. Together we want to deconstruct the dramaturgy of a moment, sensitize our perception, change our gaze and write poetry with our eyes and cameras while learning more about our self-concepts .
